The Spanish word 'Fortaleza' refers strength, and to the old Spanish Forts used in some of history's greatest battles of the Caribbean.
Not unlike the old Spanish forts, the Fortaleza humidor is handcrafted - not overly fancy - but solid and strong, just like it's name suggests. Many cigar aficionados are looking for a simple humidor in design without sacrificing size or durability, but includes loads of value. The Vanderburgh Fortaleza custom humidor perfectly fits this bill.

The Forteleza handcrafted humidor is a no-nonsense humidor for those who want a classic, stately look, with durability that will last for generations. In fact, the Fortaleza humidor is build so stable and strong, your kids will most likely fight over it when you are gone!
HUMIDOR SIZE - Generous.
The Fortaleza humidor is generously sized at 16" x 12" x 6.5" High, and can accomodate around 150 - 200 cigars depending upon your size preference.
Weighing in at over 20 pounds, this custom humidor is hand crafted with solid 3/4 Canadian Black Walnut body, and bookmatched beautiful Canadian Maple Blister top for warm tones that will blend in to any room, studio or den.
HUMIDOR JOINT CONSTRUCTION: Brass pegs, assembled and glued by hand.
The custom humidor body is secured with brass pegs that are visibly shown which gives a strong and majestic appearance. Visible brass pegs are a tell-tale sign that this humidor has been build by hand, and not in a mass production factory.
The Fortaleza humidor also incorporates a solid stone base of 1/2" granite which provides temperature stability and gorgeous character upon opening the humidor. Finding solid stone on a humidor is very rare, and provides many benefits as well as ensures stability for the solid woods used on the humidor.
The Forteleza humidor is also lined with solid, 1/4" thick genuine spanish cedar, known for it's cigar storage properties, pleasant scent and resistence to mold.
HUMIDOR FINISH: Hand-polished, not spray lacquer.
This handcrafted humidor is hand-polished with over 12 coats of finish and polish for a fine-furniture look, not a cheap spray-laquered mass-produced appearance like in most cheap humidors.
There are a variety of humidification options available for this humidor, but price would include either an RH bead system, or an engineered gel humidification unit with a spanish cedar cover.
The custom handcrafted humidor has adjustable, removable dividers build from spanish cedar. Dividers, rather than trays allow for more organization options, and more possibilities when storing and aging cigars.
This custom humidor is handcrafted one at a time, and includes some very ingenious and brilliant design elements.
Available standard with Black Walnut body, and blister maple top, we can easily accomodate any other exotic wood combination you may desire.
As this humidor is not stocked, we will be building it for you from scratch.
