'The Carter' Humidor

The Carter humidor has been designed after the famous archaeologist, Howard Carter, the discoverer of King Tutankhamun’s tomb.  The Carter is the most intricate humidor model crafted by Vanderburgh Humidors, using angles virtually identical to the original angles of the Pyramids of Giza.

This humidor demands attention, and conversation with 3/4” Australian Lacewood body, and solid Ebony trim adorning each edge.  Then, contrasting Macassar Ebony pyramids have been hand-cut into the Lacewood giving a mesmerizing and classic finish.  23 coats of natural, genuine shellac bring out the grain of the choice woods, and create a rich glossy finish.

Inside the humidor is finished with solid Spanish Cedar, with humidity channels allowing humid air to circulate even under your cigars.  Electronic humidification by CigarSpa adds worry-free functionality to this remarkable humidor.

Howard Carter

Born in 1874 in a small town in England, Howard Carter was the son of an artist named Samuel John Carter.  It was his father who taught Howard fundamentals of drawing.  Howard had always had a fascination with Egypt, so when he was only 17 years old, he set sail for Alexandria, Egypt, hoping to find work with the Egyptian Exploration Fund.   Under the direction of William Flinders Petrie, Carter grew up in the shadow of a great archaeologist.  Petrie, however never thought that Carter would become a great excavator.  After some time and a turning of unfortunate events, Carter found himself Supervisor of Excavations for the 5th Lord Carnarvon who happened to own one of the most valuable collections of Egyptian artifacts in private hands.  Having an obsession with finding a little-known pharaoh’s tomb named Tutankhamen, Carter searched for 5 years without even a hint of its existence.  Lord Carnarvon, out of frustration was about to discontinue the project, however Carter convinced Lord Carnarvon of funding one final season of digging.  Three days after Carnarvon’s concurrence, the risk paid off, and Carter unearthed the opening to King Tut’s tomb.

Are you a persistent Howard Carter with his mind set on his goal?  Despite of funding, or lack thereof, are you willing to follow your dream despite the circumstances?  If this is who you are, the Carter Humidor is the humidor for you.
