Alfred North Whitehead once said that 'Art flourishes when there is a sense of adventure'.  We find this very prevalent when we build artisan humidors.  Each creative door we step through allows for more and more creativity to be revealed.

Today, art is often difficult to find in functional products.  Our storefronts and shopping malls are infiltrated with mass production, synthetics and plastic.  At Vanderburgh, we use traditional, natural materials to make our functional humidors, and you will discover that our Artisan Series humidors are among the most surprisingly creative in the world today.  Only a few Artisan Series humidors are made each year and each one is completely different.

We incorporate the beauty of solid woods, traditional craftsmanship and handcrafted artwork from talented artists.  These particular humidors feature the artwork of glass artist Daniel Castillo and Master Humidor Builder Ryan Shervill.

Alfred North Whitehead: Art flourishes when there's a sense of adventure.

Daniel uses a unique technique called 'fused glass'.  Daniel hand-cuts individual pieces of glass and arranges them to make the desired pattern.  Then Daniel adds pigments and dyes to create the image he is looking for.  Once the design is complete, the glass goes into a specially designed oven and fuses together to make an extremely unique piece of artwork.

Prices of Vanderburgh Artisan Series custom humidors begin at  $3500.  We can custom build one for you at any time.  But please allow for the design to build and progress as the craftsman works through the design.
