This humidor features two of the most interesting woods in the world. Canadian Tiger Maple, and Hawaiian Koa wood. Both have a rippled figure which offers interesting character. The rippling figure is an anomoly in the normal growth of the tree. The appearance occurs when the wood cells grow in rippled patterns. When oil is applied, it absorbs into the pores allowing the light to reflect and refract.
The Hawaiian Koa is the traditional wood used by Hawaiian natives for building surfboards.
